The coloring of the ad matches the name of the company, Al-shams Al-dahabia (Golden Sun). It is for the cooking product semna, or ghee, which is used often in Egyptian cuisine at home as a substitute for butter and oil. The ad is somewhat obscured by trees, and located near the Souq Bab Al-Louq, once an important open market in the capital, but has become run down in recent years. It is also located along a former tram line, which would have given passengers a clear view of it, if the ad was placed before the tram’s closure.
