Description
Horsh Beirut, the stencil on the right, perhaps best encapsulates the thrust of this project. The Horsh, or forest, is the largest green space in a capital with few green spaces. More significantly to this project, the Horsh is meant to be a public garden but has been closed to the public for more than 20 years. The stencil is part of a campaign of a coalition of local groups that each year attempt to recreate the Horsh across the city by laying down beds of grass on the concrete and reclaiming public space.
